What’s in Jump Seat?

Name and email, no card. Pick an avatar — Maya, Sam, Jordan, Priya, Alan, or Tessa — and jump into a live demo plan. Explore Burn, Fuel, the Risk Compass, and storms. When you want it on your own holdings, unlock Flight Deck.

What is Flight Deck?

Flight Deck is the paid cockpit — annual membership. You build your own plan (Mission through Launch) and unlock freedom date, Coast, Plan Confidence, and the other answered figures on your money. Cancel any time from Billing; access runs through the end of the year you already paid for.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Cancel from Billing in the left tray any time. Flight Deck keeps working through the end of the annual period you already paid for — then you are not charged again. Your plan parks; wake it when you come back.

What currency am I charged in?

Prices on the Pricing page follow where you are — six currencies supported. The list price is the Flight Deck amount shown there; you pay in the currency displayed for your region.

Using Loxoda

Do I have to connect a brokerage?

No, and you can’t. No bank login, no way to move money. You enter what you hold; Loxoda looks up the market data. Accounts stay where they are.

What are demo portfolios?

Named example lives you can open to explore the cockpit — Maya, Sam, Jordan, Priya, Alan, Tessa. Answers are visible there so you can see how the dials work. The person and holdings stay as they are; your tweaks are not saved. They show you what your own plan will look like on Flight Deck.

Do you model real-world assets — a house, rental, business, jewelry?

Yes. Add property, a business stake, valuables, or something else on Portfolio. A home you live in stays outside the retirement pot until you sell it — you still need somewhere to live. A place you let can pay rent into the plan. When you sell, fees and any loan come off first, then what is left can go into investments or cash.

Can I put a mortgage and other real bills on the timeline?

Yes. Living costs cover what you spend every month. Dated bills — mortgage until payoff, childcare, college, a car loan, or anything else with a start and end — sit on top of that timeline so the plan sees the years those costs actually run.

Can I plan as a couple?

Yes. Add a partner on the plan — shared living costs, their age and retire age, and partner pensions or other guaranteed income on their own rows. The household is one plan, not two disconnected spreadsheets.

Can I model pensions and Social Security?

Yes. Guaranteed income streams — pensions, annuities, Social Security — each with a claim age and whether it rises with inflation. They sit on the income map beside portfolio drawdown, so the freedom date is not equity-only theatre.

Can I hold assets in another currency?

Yes — not only convert prices for display. You can own something denominated in another currency and model it that way. Example: a US plan with a flat in Canada priced in Canadian dollars, or stocks listed abroad. Each asset keeps its own currency; Loxoda brings the whole picture into your plan currency with live FX so the freedom date is still one coherent number.

Do you support crypto?

Yes. Search a supported coin and add it like any holding — Bitcoin, Ether, and a curated set of others. Stablecoins are cash: enter them in the cash table, not as a coin. Thin history still follows the same rule as stocks — under three years, Loxoda will not invent a fit.

Which markets and tickers work?

Listed instruments with commercial market data — global ticker search, live prices refreshed daily. If a name has no usable price history, it cannot be fitted the same way as a long-lived ETF or stock. Cash sits as a buffer with an optional savings rate you set — and it stays cash in Plan Confidence, not another equity.

What is Coast?

Coast is the age when you can stop saving and still reach freedom later — the pot keeps growing on its own until you can live off it. Freedom is different: that is when you can stop working and draw down. Coast only appears when the plan is on track.

I’m not in the United States — does tax still work?

Ten residencies are highlighted and prices come in six currencies, so the plan itself works anywhere. Tax is different: there is a full tax engine for the UK and the US, and everywhere else the plan is shown before tax. We hold no tax tables for those countries and will not invent a rate, so your date is optimistic by whatever your country charges — the cockpit says so in the place the tax figure would be.

Can I save different scenarios?

Yes, on Flight Deck. You create, rename, and switch scenarios freely (Coast, retire at 45, higher spend, and so on) — each keeps its own path.

Under the hood

How do you set the portfolio return?

Per ticker, from its own price history — then blended by what you hold. Premiums above the market are matured downward over time so a hot decade does not become a thirty-year assumption. Market baseline is built in; you can override any holding. Full write-up on Method.

Does holding more tickers always raise Plan Confidence?

Only if they do not all move together. We look at how your holdings have actually moved together, then assume they will move together more than that in a crash — because in falling markets, things that looked independent start falling together. A broad mix of different behaviours can help; near-identical funds usually will not. Cash lowers risk because it stays cash — we do not treat it like another stock.

Does it run Monte Carlo?

Yes. Plan Confidence is a 2,000-path Monte Carlo on your withdrawal schedule — the share of futures where the portfolio never depletes. That sits alongside the deterministic path that drives the freedom date and main chart. We never display 100% — 99% is the ceiling, so the dial never pretends certainty. Storms are separate: eight stackable shocks you layer on top; when they are on, the same Monte Carlo is re-run under that weather. Storms do not replace Monte Carlo.

What does the Risk Compass change?

Your view of the market for every Growth holding on AUTO — 6% Ultra conservative to 10% Very bullish. After twenty years the extra dies; that destination does not fade. Five stances, and you can override any single Growth name if you want to. It does not change what you own, measured volatility, or replace Monte Carlo / storms. Same book, different belief about the expected path.

How do the stress scenarios work?

Eight shocks — crash, lost decade, bad timing, and more — stackable, run on the holdings you own today. They are additional stress testing on top of baseline Monte Carlo Plan Confidence: activating storms re-runs those 2,000 paths with the shocks applied. Not a replay of an old market forced onto tickers that were not listed then.

How does tax-aware drawdown choose the order?

When it is on, the engine sequences withdrawals through your wrappers (Taxable brokerage, then 401(k), then Roth IRA); you see the path rather than building the ladder by hand. You do not reorder that sequence yourself. The wrapper order works everywhere; the tax on top of it is modelled for the UK and the US only, and every other residency is shown before tax.

What if a holding only has a few years of history?

Under three years Loxoda will not fit a trend. The name shows MARKET AVG and uses the market average — or a rate you confirm yourself on that Growth stock only (0–28% a year; Very Bullish can still add two points, up to 30%). Crypto and names with a real fit stay on Loxoda’s model.

Who sets inflation and longevity?

You do. Inflation applies to spending and to income you flag as rising with it. Plan length defaults to age 95; set it where you are comfortable. Both are cockpit controls, not hidden constants.
